HeartSeeker

Heartseeker was a game made in 48 hours for the Global Game Jam 2021 in January. It was the second Game Jam I took apart in and with the same core team as the previous Global Game Jam. With more experience and confidence, our team aimed to create an even better game then Space Junkers. The theme for the game jam was "Lost and Found". Based on that theme, we decided to make a game about a girl lost in a forest, trying to find the lost pages of her diary. We made it a 2.5D top-down action arcade game, where you explore a forest for the lost pages, while fighting enemies at the same time.

We had many ideas for the game, for the story and possible levels, but had to be cut down for the sake of our time constraint. Unlike our first game jam game, Heartseeker had more story elements, and we as a team thought a lot more about the possible story. I lead many of the discussions on the story we could tell in this game, and even wrote some documents and storyboards. Unfortunately, we couldn't include much of the story details, working on the game for only 48 hours and focusing on the art and gameplay. On the art side, I created simple 3D model assets of hollow logs and tree trunks.
